On the Asset Selection page you can select the assets for your analysis. You can filter assets using the map, or by selecting asset sub-classes from a list, or both.
Use the Saved assets button to view the assets already run in this project.
To select assets for analysis in your project, use the asset sub-class list in the box on the right - to select one or more sub-classes, and/or use the map to select assets as described below.
Suggestion: If this is your first time, select a maximum of 5 assets.
Click the name of the asset sub-class in the box and it will become highlighted. Use SHIFT to select multiple asset sub-classes between two clicked sub-assets, or use CNTRL to select individual sub-assets. Then click the Filter button to list the assets in the selected sub-class(es). Sometimes this list is still too long. You can reduce the length by adding another filter term in the asset name box and then pressing FILTER again.
Once an asset has been selected in the box, it can be viewed on the map by selecting the "Map" button.
You can use the map tool to show assets and filter the asset list based on area. Zoom in or out of the map using the + and - button, and move around using the arrows (you can also navigate the map using your mouse, or by clicking on the "hand" button). Select the filled polygon button, and click each corner of a polygon to outline the area within which you want to search for assets. Double click on the last point of the polygon to close it and start searching for assets. This will reduce the length of the asset list. The open polygon button allows the user to edit the polygon they have drawn, this also allows for more vertices to be used. Using the "red X" button the user the can delete the polygon they have drawn. Finally, the "magnifying glass" button allows the user to get more information about the asset shown on the map.
Other buttons on this page include the "Clone" button. If one asset is selected, you can create a copy of it. The "Show Dependents" button will show dependent assets for the selected asset if there are any. Once the list of assets appears, select all assets, or a subset of the list. Click the "Analyse impacts" button below the asset list to start the analysis on the assets highlighted.
